Para Ordnance

Para Ordnance. I always wondered how they operated in Canada. Now with a plant in the US, manufacturing must be a lot easier.

Nighthawk is  relatively new to 1911 scene but has made a big impact in the short time it has been around.  They have partnered with Richard Heinie to build 1911s under his supervision.

Pictured above is a 10mm long slide.

Kimber 1911 – Grand Raptor

October 30, 2010

Kimber does not have the desirous legacy name of Colt but they have surpassed in their short existence what Colt has done with the 1911 in the past century.

Kimber poses an interesting option for this blog in that Kimber has probably made more models of the 1911 than there have been manufacturers of 1911. If they haven’t done it yet, they probably are close to having a complete alphabet of 1911s. Does anyone know every single model name they have made? This may be the next or a concurrent project here.

Pheasant Hen

A rooster is a fairly common sighting but I’ve only seen a hen once in many years here.
