Chipping Sparrow

For me, sparrows on the whole are difficult to identify.  Here is one that is fairly easy to identify because of its bright chestnut cap.  I saw this one several times during the summer and got up close, about 3 ft from one that I startled out of the bush. I don’t know for certain why it is called a chipping sparrow but my suspicion is that its chirp is a chip sound.  This one was chipping at me, I think because I must have been real close to its nest.
